Ride the Foothills of Appalachia and help

Adoptable Horses!

Elkins Creek Horse camp takes you back in time to a world of horses and mules, family friendly fun and the picturesque view of a little “cowboy” street where you can have access approximately 100 miles of trails, 60 electric sites, primitive camp facilities, 106 stalls, a tack shop, restrooms/showers and more.

April 18th to April 21st – Come for the Day or Weekend!

This yearly event helps us continue our rescue work with horses from Appalachia, spread the work on equine adoption to increasing larger crowds that come to ride and enjoy this wonderful camp ground (easily the best in the EAST).

Events will start on Thursday evening this year.

The full weekend will include an arena trail obstacle challenge, a fun show, poker run and a trail ride on the beautiful trails surrounding Elkins Creek Horse Camp in the Wayne National Forest, with the Red Buds in Full Bloom!

Ride at your leisure, or ride with friends and rescue volunteers on Saturday.

A Poker Run will be offered during the trail ride,  a live band or Karaoke and Easter Egg hunt and Cowboy Church will complete your weekend!

This is one of Elkins Creek’s most Popular Events, and HOP always creates one of the first ride weekends of April once the trails open!
