Her Story

Zoey was rescued in the spring of 2017. Her owner reached out to us desperate for help. She was not in good health and was an older lady living alone. She was struggling and going without food and needed items herself to try to keep hay and grain for her 5 horses. The horses were in various stages of neglect, but only the very senior mare, Zoey’s mother, was in truly poor shape. Zoey had never had her feet or teeth done, and she has never been wormed. She hadn’t been in a trailer, and she wasn’t truly halter trained. She had been running at her mother’s side on this hillside where she was born for 6 years. The whole story can be found here.

Her Training

Olivia says, “She has been a breeze to start under saddle and is an outgoing, even tempered gal. Zoey enjoys trail riding and has a consistent adventurous attitude anywhere she goes. She is bold to any terrain, and bravely navigates obstacles. Zoey will pop over a crossrail or cross a creek. She’s attended a show and didn’t bat an eyelash at the traffic, trailers, strange horses. She leads, loads without hesitation, bathes, ties well to a post or a trailer, rides in English or Western tack and goes in a rope halter or a snaffle.”
